Jordan is mostly arid with summertime temperatures reaching 97°F (36°C) in the months of July and August.

Spring and autumn have more moderate temperatures but in the winter it can get very cold.

The Dead Sea Depression area and Aqaba have more mild winters than the rest of Jordan.

There is little precipitation year round, but most of it falls outside the summer months.

The mountains and hills on Jordan’s west will get snowfall during the winter. In the desert regions temperatures are very extreme.

It can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The nighttime temperature can fall substantially in the desert even in the summertime.
