Each region of Peru has its own climate. The western coastal region can be hot in the summer and cold and damp in the winter.
Temperatures generally stay around 55°F but can get into the 80’s in the summer. The highland region stays mostly
sunny, but the nighttime temperature can drop to below 40°F. The climate in the Amazon Basin region is tropical all year
round. Both the highland and Basin regions have a rainy season that lasts from December to April. The city of
Lima has mild weather averaging 70°F in the summer months (December to mid March) and 50°F in the winter months.
Lima gets very little rain with most of it concentrated in August. The humidity in the city is often quite high forming fog.
