HIGHLIGHTS

Come explore a land of warmth and hospitality, of pleasant curiosity and eager smiles.  Jordan is host to a plethora of ancient civilizations with antique relics and ruins from times past where unique customs and traditions prevail.

Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage this country has to offer.  Visit the Greek and Roman city of Um Quais which overlooks Lake Tiberius, the Golan Heights and the mountain of Lebanon.  Enjoy a private visit to the Royal Stables (not open to the public) to admire the beautiful Arabian horses and hear about their breeding. Visit the cultural center of Amman with visits to the National Gallery of Fine Arts and Darat Al Funan, a home for the arts housed in three traditional 1920s buildings alongside the archaeological remains of a six century Byzantine church built over a Roman Temple. See a 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land at Madaba and more mosaics at Mt. Nebo Church where Moses saw the Promised Land.  Drive to the Dead Sea along the Kings Highway stopping at the Dana Nature Reserve. Overlook the spectacular Wadi Mujib, a gorge in Jordan which enters the Dead Sea and is the lowest nature reserve in the world (at 410 meters below sea level).  And who could go to Jordan without visiting one of the new Wonders of the World, Petra. The 9th century red-rose stone city settled by a nomadic tribe called the Nabataeans.  They built extensive water tunnels and began a commercial empire that extended into Syria.  You travel by jeep through the Wadi Rum Nature Preserve with its spectacular scenery and when you get to the Dead Sea you can enjoy floating in the therapeutic waters or taking in all the spa has to offer at our hotel.

You also enjoy wonderful hand-on experiences such as making baskets out of cattail reeds and banana leaves with the women from the Wadi Al-Rayan Project.  The project not only creates job opportunities for local women, it is environmental friendly and preserves traditional handicrafts in the area. You will meet an old Shaman of Petra who will talk about traditional Arab medical practices and with the help of some local chefs, prepare a Jordanian dinner.

Stay in the 5 star hotels: Grand Hyatt Amman, Petra Movenpick and the beautiful Dead Sea Movenpick on the shores of the Dead Sea.

The tour is for 8-16 travelers only, so you can enjoy the company of others, or fill the trip with your friends and/or family. Our small group size provides you with special opportunities and private access for unique cultural experiences.

A contribution will be made following your trip to the Jordan River Foundation (JRF), a non-profit Jordanian non-governmental organization (NGO) chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah. It was established in 1995 “to empower society, especially women and children, and in turn, improve the quality of life to secure a better future for all Jordanians…by initiating and supporting sustainable social, economic and cultural programs that empower communities and individuals based on their needs and priorities.”
Don’t miss this wonderful country with its warm people and cultural riches.
