Located in the Middle East between Israel, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, Jordan has a mostly urban population and is home
to over six million people.
The Dead Sea Depression, the lowest point of land on earth at 1,300 feet below sea level,
is on the west side of Jordan.
In the north, Jordan is hilly with a few forests. In the south where the city of Aqaba
sits is a narrow strip of the red sea.
The Desert to the north east is dotted with oasis and the desert to the south
east contains large structures of brightly colored eroded limestone. The ancient desert city of Petra is an ancient rose-colored
city cut out of rock.
The local time in Jordan is GMT+2 hours, except between April and October when it becomes GMT+3
