While Mongolia does not have a set standard for dress, it is wise to come prepared for cold and wet weather.

Because the weather in Mongolia is very changeable, it is advisable to have several layers of warm clothing when traveling. This way, you can add or remove layers if the temperature changes.

Be prepared for cold weather if you are traveling to any of the higher altitudes, or traveling outside of the summer season. If you are traveling in the summer make sure you bring wet weather gear such as a poncho.
