Join Cultural Crossroads for a special cultural journey to Thailand. We'll visit some of the well-known spots and some that
are off-the-beaten path. We'll go for an elephant ride and take a dip in a cool waterfall. An excursion on foot takes us
through small alleys full with local markets, traditional street cuisines, Chinese herbal pharmacies and gold shops. We'll
visit UNESCO World Heritage sites and historical ruins, and enjoy local arts and crafts. We'll travel by boat along ancient
waterways once were Bangkok’s main arteries and we'll learn about the opium trade. This trip will be a cultural journey like
no other.
Join Cultural Crossroads for an experience like no other. Our trip to Thailand enables our travelers to watch and experience
Thai culture and its traditional living arts through Thai Etiquette, Dance, Traditional Flower arranging and Lai Thai or Thai
Design. These living arts are taught by master local teachers. Participants spend an evening tracking wild elephants with
local rangers and spend the day in Khao Yai National Park and UNESCO World Heritage site. We will learn about traditional
Lanna style textile weaving and spend time with a ceramics expert and his collection. Cultural Crossroads travelers can enjoy
a Thai Cooking Class and spend a day of Voluntourism. Travelers have the opportunity to “give back” to the communities.
Choices include half a day at The Elephant Conservation Center (TECC), a half or full day teaching English or doing trail
repair work, farming or scientific data collection
